I'm surprised by how fast Adriana's breathing steadies. She falls asleep right away which obviously makes me think she is just faking it. No one can even blame me for that. I got so close to losing her, albeit I would have found her in a week tops, like I said with Daciana, the time and effort that would go into it was what I was avoiding. I don't think I'll be able to sleep with the knowledge of her not being under the same roof with me.

My thoughts get interrupted by the pack doctor's mindlink. I give him permission to speak as I continue watching my mate. Listening to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat that confirmed she was sleeping and not just faking it.
