Xander looks doubtful for a second and I try hard to control my heart rate. I know he can hear it and he is watching, analyzing every single move that I make and trying to gauge my reactions. He wants to know if I'm lying. I sounded too pliant to my own ears too, and though deep down, the thought of him touching me made me want to tear my skin off.
