Celeste’s POV

By the time the lunar priestess Luneth, her loyal bodyguard Kaien, and Faela—the Delta of the Snow Fang pack—had all departed, the sun was dipping below the horizon and evening had settled over the Umbra Veil pack village. With the final goodbyes exchanged, the remaining pack leaders turned their attention to practical matters: deciding where Eryndor and Auraya would spend the night.

I couldn’t help but feel relieved when I saw the pride on Eryndor’s face at the news that the Umbra Veil village had grown since his last visit. Thanks to the expansion, he no longer needed to stay under my roof—an arrangement that had once caused Auraya more than a little discomfort. I still remembered how hotly she’d protested being forced to share a cramped guest chamber with me on our previous visit.

Auraya, curious to inspect her own new quarters, slipped into her assigned home. She paused in the doorway, her amber eyes widening in surprise.

“Not bad at
