Lira’s POV
“I foolishly latched onto Zephyr’s tail before he could get away,” I admitted, my voice cracking as I clung to him.
Zephyr skidded to a halt, turning in mid-step. His icy blue eyes locked onto mine. “What’s wrong with you?” he demanded, confusion edging his tone. I understood his reaction—if I’d just slaughtered a group of people and someone started clinging to me, I’d think they’d lost their mind, too.
But I wasn’t crazy. The lunar goddess had placed me here for a reason. I wasn’t letting Zephyr slip away. This was my chance to infiltrate the Dreadmaw pack.
