Chapter 196. Death Ritual
Giovanna entered the room in a white, almost shiny dress, with her long hair loose and with the old gleam of indifference and coldness in her eyes. She walked past him without seeing him, leaned over the crib and the crying stopped. She stayed there for a while and turned around when she heard a noise at the door and Mehoffer appeared in white robes like theirs and smiled debauchedly.
“Come on. I want you now.”
“Take it off me!” She said and held out her hands.
Only then did Luc realize that she was bound by chains.
“That's so you'll never say I never presented you with gold.” He said and smiled, but then looked at her seriously. “Come on, now!” He said menacingly and left.
Giovanna took one more look inside the crib and then hurried after him. Luc tried to hold her back, but she didn't see him and he went back into the darkness of the forest. He was crying.
