Chapter 24
Katelyn's POV
I left my apartment early to go to the mental facility where my mother was admitted. It's far from where I live, so I had to take a train to get there.
But since I had my own car, I didn't have to commute anymore and hit the road.
I bought a small cake and flowers for Mom. I know she loves red roses, so that's what I got for her.
I got into the car and started driving. The journey would take about three hours, so I knew I would be tired today.
"I feel like I'm going to doze off." Lately, I've been feeling tired more quickly. I'm always drowsy, and I've lost my appetite. I often notice small bruises on my body, which scares me, thinking I might have leukemia or that my blood count is too low.
"Where are my meds?" I momentarily stopped the car at the side of the road, and luckily, there wasn't much traffic passing by. I rummaged through my bag and searched for the headache medicine.
I took one and resumed driving
