We decided to return to the hotel for lunch and it's a good thing we did, the muffuletta sandwiches being served are delicious.

"You think the sandwich originated in Italy?" Angelo asked through a mouth full of food. The phrase, a way to a man's heart is through his stomach comes to mind when I think of Angelo.

"The muffuletta, like the po'boy, originated in New Orleans." Camille said as she approached our table to sit.

"Really?" Angelo asked.

"Yes, the muffuletta bread may have been named after a baker in Sicily, but the sandwich with the meats, cheeses and olive salad topping was born right here in the big easy." She told us.
