Chapter 73. Parents

The night sky was starting to lighten which indicated that sunrise was fast approaching. We had spent most of the night lost in pure bliss on this sandy little beach.

Dimitri was laying with his eyes closed but wasn't sleeping. He held me tight to his chest under a blanket. I could feel his heartbeat and it seemed in sync with my own heart's rhythm. I inhaled his scent deeply and it had changed, both of our scents had changed and blended together.

"How are you feeling little bird?" His voice was gravelly.

"Perfectly content and exhausted." I giggled.

"The patrol will be resuming its run to this side of the island at sunrise." Dimitri stood up and slipped some shorts on.

"Are we running back?" I groaned remembering the long distance we had run in wolf form to get here.
