Chapter 34. More Than Love

 I love watching her sleep. Her red hair is spread across the pillow. She looks like an Angel, my own Angel, sent to rescue me from my hell.

 I watch her closely to ensure she is not having another nightmare. She has been having them lately and I desperately want to know what they are about. But I won't rush her, she will talk to me about them and the scars on her thighs when she is ready.

 I curse when my phone starts ringing in my pocket, startling me. I quickly silence it to avoid waking Aella up. It is Ryker. 

 "Hey man, Jake told me you found your woman."

 I massage my temple; my headache has been going on for weeks now. I need to sleep, but I cannot sleep besides Aella, and even when I leave her to sleep and go to the office, I always end up working.

 "I am sorry I didn't call back yesterday."

 "I understand man. I just hope she finally realizes how much you love her."
