Savannah’s POV

Five Months Later

“Come on, Savannah, you can do it!” Beta Lilian says.

“Push, girl, puuuushh!!!” Lexy urges on.

I scream at the top of my lungs as I push as hard as I can. Beta Lilian, my doctor, is standing underneath me and Lexy and Betty are holding my left hand. On my right, there’s Logan and Harlan. Logan looks shocked to see what’s happening while Harlan keeps a stoic face. Though I know, deep down, he’s freaking out too.

The night started out kind of calm. It’s a week before my due date so I wasn’t expecting anything. Logan, Harlan, and I were watching TV in the living room, binging on Succession. Then, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, there it was—the mucus plug.

My heart quickened, but I wasn’t nervous. I was filled with a calm resolution and a voice in my head that says, “Relax. Everything’s gonna be fine.”

I knew very early on that I wanted a home birth. I have Beta Lilian to help me, she’s a doctor
