Clair didn’t even flinch at the guards trying to stop her. She drove right past them, ignoring the way they slammed their hands on the hood, and tried throwing themselves in front of the car. She didn’t slow down. Not once. Her grip on the steering wheel was tight. Her jaw locked. Her mind was screaming with rage and fear.
The driveway curved up to a mansion she had never been to before. Never needed to. Never wanted to—until now.
She slammed the brakes in front of the main entrance and stepped out, throwing the car door shut behind her. Her heels hit the concrete hard. The men in black surrounded her almost immediately, voices rising.
“Miss, you can’t just barge in like this—this is private property—”
“To hell with that,” Clair snapped, eyes burning. “Where’s my mother? I know your perverted boss has her locked in here somewhere. Bring her out!”
