Chapter 139
Meadow’s POV
A gasp tore from my throat—not out of fear, but shock. That was something neither of us expected to happen as Alaric walked me through the doors of his office.
But I wasn’t scared. Not at all. That was a hard punch, but Alaric’s head only jerked to the side because he was caught off guard.
“I quit, motherfucker!” Tyler yelled angrily, swinging his arm back again for another punch. “You don’t fucking own me!”
“Tyler, no—” I started, trying to warn him before he did something he was going to regret.
Because trust me—he was definitely going to regret hitting Alaric. He couldn’t feel. And as far as I knew, Tyler only caressed his face.
He paid me no heed. However, before he could deliver another punch, Alaric caught Tyler’s wrist in one hand and then, releasing my hand from the other, he delivered a blow to his nose—a blow so loud and impactful that I heard the sound of his bones cracking.
“Fuck!” Tyler groane
