His Mate - 43. Michael's Change of Heart

Samantha's POV

"Wake up, Samantha." The strong voice of Michael sounds.

I look around for him. Michael shows up behind and tree and slowly makes his way to me.

"What am I doing here?" I'm in the woods. The same place Elizabeth took me to talk about leaving Jack.

"Do you know why I continue this whole thing?" He looks up at the sky. There are no birds. No clouds. There is light, yet no sun.

"You wanted to get back at Jack's family for stealing your mate away." I answer correctly. Michael shakes his head. I furrow my eyebrows.

He looks down from the sky and into my eyes. Michael circles me. "At first, yes. I envied them for having the life with her I was supposed to. But, then I just felt entitled to something. They owed me everything. So, I set out for their pack, to be its Alpha."
