Chapter 53

After we had returned home it was evening already and Christian had completely ignored the fact that he had promised to answer my question.

He locked himself in his office and had a million phone calls, which I obviously understood when I heard Fabio’s name drop—but I was still waiting for whatever he had to say.

It only took a few hours before I could not take it anymore and went to the kitchen to make him some coffee. Coming empty-handed and demanding an answer would been a bit rude, so I was going to play along with his little game.

I went back upstairs and knocked on his office door. I heard no answer and he was still in the middle of making phone calls, so I walked in and sat down in front of him while he gave me a startled look.

“Excuse me, I’ll call you back later.” He ended the phone call while I pushed the cup of coffee into his hands. “Thank you?” He frowned his eyebrows as I have him a desperate look.

“Oh right, the answer I promised you.” He
