“Pull!” someone yelled. The command cut through the cacophony of crashing metal and shifting sand. Multiple hands grasped his arms and shoulders, their grip ironclad, and the air was filled with the sound of wrenching metal as he was yanked free from the wreckage. He stumbled backward, blinking against the harsh light, his body trembling with adrenaline and shock. He looked over his shoulder, eyes wide, to see the car collapsing in on itself like some grotesque metallic flower wilting under a sudden flame. Within moments, it resembled nothing more than a small, crumpled piece of tin foil no larger than a soda can, flickering with sparks as it sank into the Dreamscape sand.

“Well, that was close.” Lily stepped forward, her boots crunching softly on the granular beach of this unreal landscape. With a casual flick of her foot, she sent the tiny burning foil into the waves of the Dreamscape ocean, where it vanished beneath the
