Epilogue
Three years later
“Have you packed everything, Christian?” asked Jacqueline, as she changed the diaper of her three-month-old baby boy, Grayson. His twin sister, Janette, slept peacefully like an angel beside him. Jacqueline had a smooth pregnancy with the whole family doting on her, especially Gilbert. It was a novel experience for Jacqueline and she saw a tender side of Gilbert, an excessively caring side as he took special care of her, singing to his unborn babies every day.
Christian nodded. “Yes, mom, all packed,” he said, coming to sit down on the couch beside her, looking down at his hands.
“Are you upset, sweetie? You can always come back whenever you want to, whenever you get breaks, right?” asked Jacqueline. At eighteen, Christian was exceptionally bright and too intelligent for his age.
