Chapter 69
“Liam’s right, Lucas,” Asher began, seated behind the mahogany table in the private study, his eyes glued to the computer screen in front of him. “The honeymoon period is over. We need to get to work before we get caught flat-footed once again.”
Aria sat with her mouth closed. She was unsure of what to say. She had zero clue about what they were talking about, but it sounded serious.
He was talking to a couple of investors on the screen in front of him while I waited for him to finish.
“You don’t mind, do you?” Asher addressed her, interrupting her train of thought.
“What?”
“Asking you to join us at tonight’s event. I know we’ve been busy over the past few days, and if you decide to take a timeout on this one, we won’t hold it against you.” Asher added.
Aria shook her head. “No, I don’t mind going. Besides, it would be boring to spend the whole night alone. I wouldn’t want that.”
