Upon gathering intelligence, Anderson immediately arranged and directed his soldiers, initiating his plan. He instructed Palmer to pull his troops back about fifty miles to provoke the enemy's overconfidence, herding them into their strategic region.
Under Anderson's command, the soldiers at the western frontier began an orderly retreat, marking the first time the enemy set foot on their territory.
