The door clicked shut behind them, and the room finally went quiet.

Dr. Halvorsen pulled the curtain halfway, then turned back to me, his expression shifting from amused to professional. He checked my chart, adjusted the drip, and studied the monitor for a moment before speaking. “You’re doing better than expected,” he said. “Your vitals have stabilized completely. Heart rate is normal. Oxygen levels are good.”

I watched his face closely. “But I still feel… strange.”
