Chapter 29

I woke up in my own room. It was bright in the room not like I was used to. The curtain was open, and so was the light. I noticed the oxygen pump sitting on the bedside table. I frowned and tried to remember what had happened before I fainted.

When I remembered to admit that Luke and I had a relationship, I immediately closed my eyes. My head still hurts and my body is broken. Now I felt all the tired, awake, and hungry of the past few days as if I was being punished. I feel like I struggled. I’m very tired.

With the extra weight of my eyelids, I was able to close my eyes again and fall asleep. I only woke up when I felt my stomach growl. I rubbed my eyes still painfully. There I noticed that my skin was warm. I tried to rub my neck and forehead to make sure I was really sick. I gasped when I realized I had a fever.
