A hush settled over the dimly lit BV Hall as Thomas paced in restless circles, his hands balled into tight fists at his sides. Only a scant few of his closest companions could soothe the turmoil coiling in his chest tonight, and yet every single one of them had remained—no matter how late the hour—to brainstorm ways to rescue him from the nightmare that threatened his peace. The usual rowdy cacophony of laughter and practical jokes that normally echoed through these walls had vanished.
