"Milady, please... Help me. I didn't betray you." Elfy grumbled under his breath.

"You took my amulet," Lily replied. Stupid elf, he had her amulet, the reason she hadn’t sensed the bastard when she’d first approached the cabin.

"Milady," he rasped, struggling against the heavy chains that held him.

"Surprise, Elfy? I told you I'd find you and that you couldn't get away from me. Reaching out, Lily ripped the amulet from the leather thong around Elfy’s neck and tucked it into her pocket. Immediately, the cabin was filled with the overpowering smell of elves, while her scent disappeared.

"Go now! Milady, save yourself."

"No, Madam. They will kill you."  Elfy shook his head.
