Leon gave her a long, searching look before seemingly coming to a decision. “Okay. Alpha, stand down.”
“Okay?” Joseph echoed.
Without breaking eye contact with her, Leon nodded. “I don’t want to kill your brother any more than you want me to. That’s what started this godsdamn rivalry in the first place. So, yes. We do what she wants.”
Livia let out a slow breath, the stiffness relaxing from her shoulders. “Thank you.”
Leon’s expression shuttered, but she caught the flinch at the corners of his eyes. “Don’t thank me.”
