He trailed off, but the concern on his face showed. It sent another bitter wave of guilt through me but I held it back.

“I'm fine, I just spaced out,” I said

He opened his mouth ready to speak again but before he could counter I nudged him gently.

“You shouldn't keep on sitting like that. Lie down,” I ordered half heartedly, passing a teasing smirk.

It was enough to push him to relax. With a sigh he laid back on the sheets.

“So, I was out for three days. What happened while I was under?” He asked.

I tensed instantly. It had been three days since the incident. It sounded so small but it felt like an eternity. I'd stayed in the hospital most of the time.
