Chapter 45. A Crazy Man

Lea POV

I closed my hand into a fist, trying to keep what my uncle gave me out of sight, and quickly put it in my pocket. I tried to restrain myself and act naturally around my uncle and Daniel’s family. They invited him to dinner, and I sat across from him at the table.

The sound of a message made me pick up my phone and check.

“I will ask them to show me around the pack. You must follow. When we enter the prison, you will come with us. Then you must find a way and put that into their water bowls. Understood?”

I dropped the spoon on the table and it clattered on my plate. Everyone looked at me and I lowered my head, apologising.

“Lea, is everything all right?” Daniel asked worriedly, touching my hand.

“Yeah. I was thinking about something and got carried away,” I replied, half-smiling.
