Chapter 124. Trying Again

Sage is doing her interview. I have left with Kellan to go through my daily thing of rejecting Darius. Although it fails.

Walking into the room, he looks up at me and sighs. “Again?”

“I won’t stop until it works.” He looks at me like I’m crazy, but I’m not. I just know this needs sorting before he marries Lyra.

Standing, we try to do it, but it doesn’t work. All it does is make me more frustrated, and Winter gets angry. Darius, however, looks highly amused, and I feel like punching him.

“Okay, enough trying to reject me. We need to talk.” He sits down, and I move to sit with Kellan. “You healed Kellan.”

I laugh. “Well, there I was, thinking I was going crazy, but clearly you are.” I move and stand, Kellan stopping me.

“He’s being serious. I shouldn’t have healed that quickly. Your hand was over where the cut was.”

“I was asleep.” I didn’t heal him. “Maybe you just heal faster when you’re asleep?”

They both laugh. “I know how my body wo
