Chapter 8. Jake's Sacrifice

'Hunter!' As though they had the same thought, they both shared a glance with a short expression of shock on their identical faces before frowning as they hurriedly looked around in thought of where to hide. 

Realizing that the light came from behind them and was drawing near the more they stood around, they both shared an expression of fear and bewilderment before they hurried their pace and delved deeper into the woods.

'Dammit, I couldn't help but jinx it!' Jake cursed in his mind. He forgot about the pain from his wounds as he pushed himself to run with Erik's support.
