"Are you serious?" my eyes widened. So, how did you end up working at that dinner where I first met you two?" I inquired.

"In order to avoid detection, we must pretend to live a normal life." I apologize for keeping this from you, but we didn't want to drag you into the criminal mess." Jenny elaborated.
