“Yes,” she whispered, finally, her voice barely audible, “I am sorry.” The whisper was a thread, thin and fragile, carrying a weight it could barely hold. It felt as if she had to gather every cell in her body just to say those words, as though the apology itself might cost her something precious. Moosa was aware that how obsessed Farah was with him, how her emotions had crossed lines long ago. Her desire always has been to marry him, to claim a place beside him, but he was never inclined towards her, never willing to return feelings born out of obsession rather than respect.
“I am sorry for everything I did against you and Roshanay. I just... wanted you and that was evil of me to do what I did. I am sorry.”
