Chapter 256
Things reached their climax. The battle had raged on for what felt like hours, and by now, almost an equal number of men had fallen on both sides, bodies littering the wet, blood-soaked streets, smoke and dust rising around them with every gunshot and explosion. Suddenly, a deafening bomb blast shattered the chaotic air, sending shrapnel and debris flying in all directions. The force of it killed the remaining men of Burhan who had been surrounding Alizeh’s car, leaving them defenseless, and created the opening Moosa had been waiting for. In the confusion, Burhan was outnumbered and captured as Moosa’s men swarmed in, quickly subduing him and ensuring that Alizeh remained unharmed. The blast was a turning point, a moment of chaos that tipped the scales in Moosa’s favor.
Moosa approached, his eyes burning with controlled fury, and without hesitation, punched Burhan squarely in the face. Blood immediately oozed from the impact, streaking down his cheeks and staining his collar.
