Chapter 27
Autumn
The entire bridge was shaking. It was like an earthquake took over.
“Autumn, hold my hand and just walk along with me,” Ian instructed me. Instantly, I grabbed his hand.
We ran toward the gate on the shaky bridge. If we walked slowly, we would fall on either side of the river, there was no doubt.
Ian never left me. I didn’t notice that I was running more toward the edge.
“Autumn!” He abruptly pulled me toward him and hissed in pain. We finally managed to get out, but my eyes were fixed on his right hand. “Autumn, are you okay?”
I blurted out, “It’s bleeding.”
“What? Where did you get hurt?”
I took his hand and looked at the wound. “Here.” I pointed at his palm, where he got a cut.
He sighed. “You silly woman. Let’s go before we leave this world forever.”
“But you got hurt and it’s blee-”
“I know. We can talk about this after we reach the hotel. So, keep quiet.”
