Chapter 269. Close Yet Too Far
"Wa laikum salam," Sheharzaad greeted back and smiled warmly at her before turning to the counter and focusing on her task. Sheharzaad had forgotten and forgiven her for what she had done to her in the days when she was in a mental dilemma. Though she was still unaware of the reason for the grudge that Asma held against her, Sheharzaad still forgave her. She didn't want to carry the baggage of the past in her heart. She felt at peace by letting things go.
Asma approached Sheharzaad and stood next to her. She placed her hand on Sheharzaad's shoulder, making Sheharzaad look at her.
"Did something happen?" Asma traced Sheharzaad's face. There was not an ounce of anger or vengeance on her face. It was all calm and relaxed. Rather, she smiled at her. A pure and genuine smile. Asma felt her guilt spiking. She was aware she had tortured the girl mentally, but the girl held no grudge against her.
"Did something happen?" Sheharzaad questioned.
"Can I talk to you?"
