Zahra’s eyes matched his for a second before she immediately turned them to the floor. She was afraid to look into them. Those dark eyes promised her destruction. She couldn’t withstand the intensity in them.
“Brother, you called us?” Haseeb asked, trying to act normal as if nothing had happened. It was better to play cool than to act nervous.
“Yes. I called you. I’ve heard some news, but I want to hear it from you. Tell me, what happened today, Haseeb?” he asked in his thick, dominant voice, leaning against the desk.
His eyes were set on Zahra, whose head was hanging down and body continuously shaking. She had tightly fisted her hands by her sides. Her whole frame was shivering, given the way she dragged air inside her system.
