Miki is uneasy. Though reassured by the Alpha's words, something gnaws at him. The memory of their kiss lingers – the Alpha's gentle touches, the way he'd melted under Miki's hands – but it's overshadowed by what came after. That sudden change, the cold distance that had dropped between them like a wall.

This morning, just as dawn was breaking over, Miki had been restless enough to wander outside. That's when he'd seen him – Kamil exiting the Alpha's house with Princess trotting beside him. The time stamp on his watch had read 7:23 AM.
