Adeline’s POV
I was back home.
Back to Stormhowl.
And for the first time in days, I could breathe. There was truly no place like home. The sweet air was familiar, the ground was welcoming
Even the wind whispered peace to my soul.
King Ezra had understood, without resistance, without trying to change my mind.
When I told him I couldn’t stay, he looked me in the eyes and simply said,
“The heart knows where it belongs.”
That was all. No guilt. No persuasion. Just the truth. He sent us back home with his guards, safe, protected… and free.

I heard the joyful cries the moment we crossed the boundary of the pack.
