Chapter 29. Partner in Crime

Jansen’s POV

“What’s your mom’s name?” I asked curiously. Jessie seemed innocent to me. A person who has an innocent character tells the truth. That’s what I knew.

“Megan. But, since we met, I’ve been thinking that maybe Megan isn’t my biological mom. I’m so confused. What do you think I should do?” she asked. She looked like a confused person. Women are easily confused.

“Just answer all my questions first, then I’ll tell you the way out. You don’t need to be confused. I also want to know the truth,” I replied, trying to calm her down.

“Oh well. Please ask what you want to know,” she said. She was cute and obedient. I liked her.

“Megan is my mom’s cousin. So, does she treat you well? Think well,” I asked.

She paused and seemed to think hard. Then she shook her head. I let out a quick breath. “I guessed it. Does she behave well when you’re around your dad?”

She nodded twice.

“I guessed it. So, are your dad and Megan married?” I a
