Chapter 11
Eliza’s POV
"Thank you, Gerald," I replied, trying to keep any nervousness out of my voice. "I am grateful for your hospitality and protection. I have no intention of causing any trouble for your pack. I hope that you can understand and give me the benefit of the doubt.”
Gerald's expression softened at my words, and he nodded in understanding. "You need not worry, dear Queen. We welcome all wolves needing sanctuary here, regardless of their past affiliations. You are safe here and protected.”
With relief, I followed Gerald into the packhouse. The interior was just as magnificent as the exterior, with intricate silver designs adorning the walls and furniture. The air was filled with pine and lavender, creating a calming atmosphere.
Gerald led us to a comfortable room with a large, plush bed and a roaring fire. He gestured for us to make ourselves at home and promised to bring us some warm drinks and food soon.
