Eliza's POV

My brother shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know what to think; let's go find Father and talk to him." He suggested, and I hesitated. What if he shoved me into my bedroom again and punished Alex for letting me out? Alex sensed my concerns and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"It will be ok, little sister. I promise. I am here with you now, and I won't let anything or anyone hurt you. Father is just afraid that he will lose you again. He has been much happier since you came back into our lives. I know that better than anyone else around here." Alex reassured me, and I couldn't help but smile despite the worries that clouded my mind. I felt so lucky to have a brother like Alex, he really did care about me and it was a nice feeling.
