Chapter 130

“Do you think Mona is okay?” Diane asked after it had been about two hours since Mona left. She and Sansan tried to talk about other things and had both slept off in between. They woke up to discover Mona wasn’t back yet.

Sansan yawned. “She might be at the orchard. I will ask for a guard to help check on her.” Standing up, she made her way out of the room and called on a guard to check for Mona.

The guard returned a few minutes later, knocking on the door. “She isn’t there, ma’am,” he informed Sansan.

“Where else could she be?” Diane whispered with panic in her voice.

“I don’t know anywhere else. The orchard is the only place Mona spends her time, aside from the library,” replied Sansan.

“I think we should let Dylan know about this. I’m worried something must have happened to her,” Diane suggested.
