Chapter 26. Gia's Abrupt Presence

Alpha Knight heaved a deep sigh and rubbed his forehead with his index and middle fingers.

“Nothing happened, Jake,” he repeated, crossing his arms and staring into space.

“What do you mean nothing happened?” Jake asked, still skeptical.

“It was like a normal river. Nothing was weird about it, except for its ice-cold nature, of course. Olive actually took a long swim with me, and she was fine. She’s still fine, sleeping peacefully in my bed,” Wayne explained. Jake wasn’t entirely satisfied, but he decided to drop it for now.

“All right. We’ll have to ask Mufasa about why it didn’t affect her, though.”

Right then, Dolly won her game, prompting everyone to shout and jump in excitement.

“Oh, shit!” Terry cussed, banging his head on the table while the others laughed.
