I woke up to the warm rays of sunlight streaming through the curtains, signaling the start of a new day. It had been a month since we returned from our vacation, and I finally felt like myself again. Due to the recent increase in kidnappings, I had been completing my college courses through home lessons. But today was different. Today, I was going to resume school physically, with just a month left until graduation.

As I stretched and yawned, I heard footsteps approaching my room. The door creaked open, and Killian, walked in with a smile on his face. We had been through a lot together, and his presence always brought me comfort.

"Good morning, Esmy," Killian greeted me, his voice filled with excitement. "Are you ready for your first day back at school?"

I smiled back at him, grateful for his support. "Yes, I am. It's been a long time since I last stepped foot in that classroom. I'm excited to see my friends and experience the normalcy of being a student again."
