Cassie’s POV

We get inside the fancy restaurant he brought me to. The interior felt luxurious from every corner. The big chandelier is proof that this place is not intended for commoners like me.

I sighed when we found a table next to the corner. There are not many people here, maybe because it's already past one in the afternoon.

"Hey, Mr. Ross, you can treat me to a much cheaper place." "It looks like the food here is my salary for the next few months," I said to him enough for him to hear.

He cackles. "Please call me Derek when we are outside. It is not like I am still your boss now. Aside from that, if I can treat you better, why shouldn't I?" He said it was a trivial matter.

I know he is beyond imaginable rich, but I am still bothered and uncomfortable that he will spend lots of money on me. I hope my thoughts are wrong.

"But still," I said, trying to disagree with him, but when he glared, I felt like I needed to shut up right now or else.
