My heart was pounding tepidly. A nostalgic fear gripping my entirety. I know how powerful Lorraine's family is and from what had happened, I highly doubt they won't take any action against Alpha. This would cause chaos. It would even guarantee a civil war in the Western kingdom. Nobles would possibly turn against Lucian, not unless he was willing to use his son as a scapegoat which for me, was the most plausible course of action on his end. Despite my growing anxiety for our future, I was stopped by the ringing sound in my ears. I didn’t even hesitate to show my unease in front of the General. I just had this eerie feeling that we weren’t alone, and usually, my senses were always right.

The wind slapped in coldness while I mentally focused on reading my surroundings. Draped over like a shawl, the snow was beginning to thicken on the slopes of the mountain. It made me realize that the cold was kind of blinding my senses.
