Chapter 22
Ryan’s POV
“Fuck!” I cursed under my breath, my hand flying to grab the blanket and drag it over us, covering Anna’s bare body and mine. My heart was still racing, my breathing rough, and I still hadn’t pulled out. I couldn’t. My body refused to let go, even though my brain was screaming that we’d just been caught in the worst way possible. Anna’s eyes were wide, her face pale, and she was trembling as if she’d just seen a ghost.
Mom stood frozen in the doorway, clutching her chest as if she couldn’t breathe, and for a second I thought she was actually going to collapse. Dad’s arm shot out to steady her, his own face a tight mix of shock and fury.
“We will be in the living room,” Dad said, his voice sharp but controlled. “Waiting for you both… to come explain yourselves.”
They both gave one last look, one I knew I’d never forget, and then they walked out, closing the door behind them.
