Chapter 41. Meet My Son

Teyana’s POV

Before I could come up with a smart reply, Bianca shifted her smile toward Carol.

“Hi, Carol.”

“Hi.” Carol replied as Bianca walked away but her eyes were trained at me. I could remember Carol telling me some weeks ago that she met her through Chris already.

Bianca’s insulting words were still tormenting me when my best friend spoke. “What was that about? Jeremy will be impressed?”

Oh, Carol heard that part too. I blinked up at her. “What was what about?”

She gave a warning reaction instead of using words. “Fine, I guess she just hated me because Jeremy now has a stepsister.” I started to walk through the guests, trying to take my mind off Bianca and looking for my mother.

I heard Carol’s phone vibrated in her hand. “Oh, Chris is calling.” she said, already answering. “Yeah, I’m here…where? Okay, I’ll wait.” She tucked the phone back into her clutch. “He’s coming. Said he’ll find us.”
