Chapter 114. A Mother's Promise
Veronica watched as Nick continued to wipe his hands with a cloth as if she's not even there. "You don't have to ignore me like this, you know. It was you who insisted for me to stay here a little longer after all." Nick threw the towel aside and looked at her with deep, dangerous black eyes. He slowly approached her.
She retreated subconsciously, bumping into the adornment shelf next to her. The vase fell off with a loud cracking sound and it broke to pieces.
Veronica looked at the debris on the ground. and asked, "It's not that expensive, right? Cage said nothing but he was clearly pissed off. Bob, who heard the sound, felt a flesh ache when he saw the broken vase on the ground.
This is one of the few remaining antique vases in the world.
Veronica studied Bob's face, looking for any hint that will make her feel a little less sorry for what she did.
