Astria’s POV
“Now that sounds like something you would do, but arson definitely isn’t a good way to bring about a mass death, you know,” I remarked, raising an eyebrow at Damien.
His response was a muttered, “I don’t care,” as he buried his face in my shoulders. “I’ll kill everyone, and Lilith too.”
The room fell into a stunned silence as everyone stared at Damien in disbelief. I couldn’t help but chuckle, though. While it was a rare occurrence, there was a dangerous side to Damien that emerged when he was angry, and it was not a force to be taken lightly. I gently patted his back, hoping to calm him down before stepping away.
Meanwhile, Michaela stood at the edge of the bed, her chin trembling as she tried to speak. Without thinking, I reached out and grabbed her hand, squeezing it tightly. It was my own way of offering comfort to her in that moment. She took a deep breath and finally managed to find her voice.
