“My dear, Cali, you have grown into a fine woman,”

“It hasn’t even been a full year,” I retorted.

“Oh yes, look at me, I missed you so much that it felt like forever,” She chortled, drinking her wine. She was sucking up to me and I knew she wanted something.

“We are sorry for what we did. It was cruel of us to use you in a deal forcibly,” Vince said. I looked him in the eyes and he shrunk back. My memories of what happened last time flashed before me but I was quick to banish them away from my head for good.

“And me, going into your room that night and almost doing that atrocious deed last time, I’m sorry. I may not be your real brother but still, I should have protected you instead, I was the one to cause you pain,” He said, sounding sincere now.

“Dad would be so disappointed in me, he accepted me and gave me his love after my real father abandoned us. How could I be so cruel to his child, my sister?” His breath shudders and
