"Am I adopted?" I asked him, feeling a sense of losing myself. I heard his laughter for a moment.

"You're just an unfortunate one, that's all," he teased, as if he was lifting my spirits, so I playfully pushed him. I noticed the glances from other employees around us. He looked like a model.
