After deciding to rest, my sleep was abruptly interrupted by a call. The promptness of Mom’s call which she redialed after the initial call went unanswered signified the urgency of her message.

“Hello, Mom,” I answered, my voice slightly muddled from the sudden awakening, “I was just trying to catch some sleep.”

“I apologize for the interruption, dear. I had no idea you were resting,” My mother replied with concern. “Please don’t let me keep you up any longer. We can talk when you’ve had a chance to rest. Take care of yourself.”
